I am an artist specializing in ceramic art from Los Angeles, California. I thrive on tedious processes and existing in the creative space between sanity and insanity. In my work with clay I aim to cultivate a sense of ease through explorations of visual chaos.
I articulate form and surface in an effort to leave room for mystery. I explore the ways they inform and affect each other as separate entities rather than synonymous and entirely inseparable. The surface designs I create are designed in the moment. I make rules I follow throughout the process but expect to break and adapt to as it unfolds. My work is a fluid study of material and self. I complicate simple things and elongate processes in an effort to grapple with creative challenges I recognize I must resolve in each form for reasons I am still learning.
